Position: L2 L3 Protocol Testing with Python Automation

Location: Hyderabad (Work from Office)

Responsibilities:

As an L2 L3 Protocol Testing Engineer with Python Automation, your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Protocol Testing:
    • Perform L2 and L3 protocol testing to ensure the quality and reliability of networking products.
    • Develop test plans and test cases based on protocol specifications and customer requirements.
    • Execute test cases and analyze results to identify defects, performance issues, and interoperability problems.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  2. Python Automation:
    • Utilize your expertise in Python automation scripting to develop and maintain test automation frameworks.
    • Design and implement automated test scripts to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
    • Execute automated test suites and analyze test results to identify failures and report defects.
    • Continuously enhance automation frameworks to meet evolving testing needs and industry best practices.
  3. Test Strategy and Planning:
    • Contribute to test strategy development, test planning, and test estimation activities.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define test objectives, scope, and coverage criteria.
    • Identify risks and prioritize testing activities to ensure effective test coverage and risk mitigation.
    • Proactively participate in test design reviews and provide inputs to enhance testability and product quality.
  4. Defect Management:
    • Document, track, and manage defects using appropriate defect tracking tools.
    • Perform root cause analysis of defects and provide detailed defect reports to facilitate effective debugging.
    • Work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of defects and retesting of fixes.
  5. Test Documentation:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive test artifacts, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
    • Generate test summary reports to communicate test progress, results, and any potential risks or issues.
    • Continuously improve test documentation processes and templates for better efficiency and clarity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience of 3 to 8 years in L2 L3 protocol testing, preferably in a product-based environment.
  • Strong expertise in Python automation scripting is mandatory.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols and concepts (L2/L3), such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLAN, OSPF, BGP, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with protocol testing tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with test methodologies, test strategies, and best practices in the networking domain.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
