Job Summary: As an Automation Test Engineer (SDET) at Mercedes-Benz R&D India, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge automotive software and systems. Your primary focus will be on automation testing using the Playwright tool for both UI and API testing, and conducting API testing using Postman / RestAssured. Your expertise in Selenium, Java, and automation testing will be leveraged to create and execute effective test scripts, contributing to the seamless integration of our software development processes.

- Develop and implement automation test scripts using the Playwright tool for UI and API testing, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and early detection of defects.
- Perform API testing using tools like Postman / RestAssured to validate the functionality and performance of web services and APIs.
- Utilize your proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript programming language to build efficient and scalable test automation frameworks.
- Demonstrate end-to-end knowledge and experience in testing, ensuring the quality and reliability of the software from start to finish.
- Collaborate with the development and QA teams to create test plans, test strategy, and accurate test estimates.
- Employ one or more scripting languages and automation tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of test automation.
- Leverage analytical skills to identify and isolate issues, troubleshoot problems, and drive them to resolution.
- Interact with clients and stakeholders, effectively managing their expectations and providing regular updates on testing progress and results.
- Apply your knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies to contribute to the development and improvement of testing processes.
- Integrate automation tests into CI/CD pipelines using Git for continuous integration and delivery.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills and client handling abilities, fostering strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in automation testing, with a focus on Selenium and Java.
- Proficiency in using the Playwright tool for UI and API automation testing is essential.
- Experience with API testing using tools like Postman / RestAssured.
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript / TypeScript for building test automation frameworks.
- In-depth understanding of software testing principles, practices, and methodologies.
- Proven experience in test planning, test strategy development, and accurate test estimation.
- Familiarity with one or more scripting languages and automation tools.
- Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively interface with clients and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Git for automation implementation.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
