Qualification and Skills

• B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics / IT / Computer Engineering
• Preferred Specialization in embedded systems / computer vision
• 6-10 years total software delivery experience
• Experience with RTOS systems
• Good knowledge of C and C++ language
• Strong verification, testing, and debugging ability
• Hands-on experience with development and debugging tools
• Strong planning and project management skills
• Excellent ability to develop technical talent
• Good problem-solving and communication abilities
• Preferred: product development experience
• Preferred: technology development and deployment experience
• Preferred: software quality assurance experience
• Preferred: lean PD, Agile, OPEX, Design for Safety/Reliability

Responsibilities

• Ensure successful development and maintenance of one or more software components within the EES (Mandatory – Languages C, C++, Preferred – Javascripting, Python)
• Work expertise in embedded systems, Microcontroller architecture, Sound Hardware knowledge (Should be able to understand Block Diagrams and Schematics)
• Support the technical vision and roadmap in one or more software areas (e.g., RTOS, HMI, IoT, PC-based tools, AI/ML, etc.)
• Engage with partners to jointly develop solutions that enable product leadership
• Should understand and work on software architecture used in Whirlpool
• Work with peers to develop best-in-class software development practices including development of SoPs related to software architecture, design, requirements management, testing, processes, tools, etc.
• Understand trends and technologies in industry and work to adopt the right ones for Whirlpool
• Conduct technical design and code reviews
• Work with software engineers across global teams
• Understand and work on Software Metrics for the team
• Provide outside in view of the latest industrial trends in the Electronics & Software industry
• Support Patents/ Research / External presentations
• Rigor to publish/present papers in technical forums
• Technical rigor for patent filing and desirable to have patent
