Position: ETL Tester
Location: Bangalore, Hybrid (Office-based and remote
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, and business analysts, to understand requirements and design specifications.
- Create test cases and test plans based on functional and technical specifications.
- Conduct thorough testing of ETL processes to validate data integrity, accuracy, and completeness.
- Perform both manual and automated testing to identify and report defects, ensuring timely resolution.
- Develop and maintain test scripts, test data, and test environments.
- Participate in peer reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and track defects, and communicate test results and progress effectively.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the continuous enhancement of testing methodologies and practices.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in ETL testing techniques and tools.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of overall experience in software testing, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in ETL testing.
- Strong understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing, and data integration processes.
- Proficiency in manual testing methodologies and techniques.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL, with experience in querying and manipulating data in Oracle databases.
- Experience in creating and executing complex SQL queries for data validation and testing.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and frameworks, such as Informatica, Talend, or DataStage.
- Hands-on experience in testing data transformations, mappings, and workflows.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets and identify anomalies and patterns.
- Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks, such as JIRA, HP ALM, or Selenium.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- A self-motivated and proactive approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
