Job Summary: As an Embedded SW Test Automation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our embedded software solutions. Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop test automation frameworks and automated test benches for embedded software projects.
  2. Perform verification and validation of embedded software systems for the automotive and locomotive domain.
  3. Test systems using various communication protocols, including CAN, LIN, CANOpen, SPI, I2C, and UART.
  4. Utilize tools like CANalyzer/CANoe for testing and analyzing communication networks.
  5. Develop and execute test scripts and test cases using Python, CAPL, J-Scripts, REST APIs, HTML, and CSS.
  6. Collaborate with the development team to understand technical requirements and develop effective test strategies.
  7. Create detailed test plans, test specifications, and test reports to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  8. Ensure adherence to V-Model and Agile methodologies during the testing and development process.
  9. Identify and report defects and work closely with the development team to facilitate prompt resolution.
  10. Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve the overall software quality.
  11. Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in embedded software testing.
  12. Demonstrate a proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving, taking ownership of testing tasks and delivering high-quality results.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 3+ years of experience in embedded software testing and test automation.
  3. Strong proficiency in C programming for microcontrollers, with expertise in embedded C.
  4. Hands-on experience in working with communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, CANOpen, SPI, I2C, and UART.
  5. Familiarity with tools like CANalyzer/CANoe for communication network testing and analysis.
  6. Proficiency in Python and scripting languages like CAPL, J-Scripts, REST APIs, HTML, and CSS.
  7. Experience in developing test automation frameworks and automated test benches.
  8. Knowledge of ARM/Aurix microcontrollers is advantageous.
  9. Familiarity with automotive and locomotive domains and their specific testing requirements.
  10. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  11. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  12. Understanding of V-Model and Agile methodologies for software development and testing.
