Job Description:

What you’ll do:

You will work to create and execute testing activities to ensure new or amended services meet requirements.

Be driven and vocal to promote testing at all steps of the development cycle to ensure quality, performance and customer experience is at the forefront of everything we do.
Join the team in interpreting business requirements to form technical actions to deliver high quality, customer focused testing solutions.
Assist the squads with all quality assurance activities including requirements analysis, exploratory testing and test automation
Provide client team support, participate in investigating incidents and release activities
Have the willingness to continuously develop by learning new skills and technologies

What you’ll bring:

5 years’ experience in a similar role
Knowledge and experience of testing containerised, cloud-hosted back-end systems with REST APIs using mainstream tools (Postman, Insomnia etc.)
Basic knowledge and experience of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) for test automation (Java, C# etc.)
Experience of creating, executing and maintaining automated tests using BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or Gauge
Understanding of multi-tiered web applications and web technologies (HTTP, Json, XML, HTML, JavaScript etc.)
Experience of testing software in an agile methodology along with CI/CD using build tools like Jenkins, GitHub, Octopus etc.
Great analytical skills and the QA mindset to ask the right questions

Core Responsibilities

Write automated test code, using the same standards as a Software Engineer, that allows for repeatable, reliable testing solutions to test the wide functionality of products and software, maintaining automation codebase in a version control system (GIT, SVN). May include creating simple SQL queries for validation of databases and / or writing SOAP and RESTful API automated scripts.
Create automated testing documentation, including Test Plans, Test Summary Reports etc.
Execute automated test scripts and presents results to team.
Analyze broken test cases and diagnose and repair to working order.
Perform code reviews of automation scripts and front-end codebases. Diagnose and repair simple bugs within production code.
Serve as a guide and mentor for junior-level engineers. Provides technical leadership and consultation with regards to practices, procedures and techniques.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary .
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
