Position: Principal QA Engineer
Location: Bengaluru
Responsibilities:
- Lead the QA team and oversee the testing process for backend applications, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
- Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies based on project requirements and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to understand software requirements and design effective test cases.
- Conduct functional and automation testing of backend applications, identifying defects and reporting them to the development team.
- Design and implement automated test scripts using Python, Jenkins, and GIT to streamline the testing process.
- Perform system integration testing, regression testing, and performance testing to ensure the stability and scalability of the software.
- Continuously improve and optimize the QA process by implementing industry best practices and tools.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior members of the QA team, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in QA methodologies, tools, and technologies.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on backend application testing.
- Extensive experience in designing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Proficient in Python programming language for test automation and scripting.
- Strong knowledge of functional testing techniques and methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with automation testing tools like Jenkins and GIT.
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with testing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
