Description

Responsibilities

  • Drive cross-functional team activities and stay on track with project timelines, milestones, deliverables of different stakeholders & dependencies on each other’s
  • Establish and maintain easy-to-use collaborative work execution platform and project progress tools, e.g. Gantt chart, to organize and track team’s work
  • Plan, track, and report on key workflows to project team and management including timelines and budget
  • Ensure the availability of necessary resources for the execution of the project
  • Serve as a point of contact for individuals and teams from multiple units assigned to the project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Adjust schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change by management
  • Prepare, oversee, and review documents that are related to the project
  • Attend, schedule, and organizes study-related meetings; compile and distribute agendas in advance of the meetings
  • Take minutes from internal and external meetings, get them reviewed by stakeholders and then document them properly
  • Review invoices being presented by vendors and external contributors, get them reviewed by relevant stakeholders, present them to management for approval and follow up on payments
  • Ensure that questions and issues brought up by vendors and external contributors are addressed by relevant stakeholders and responses communicated externally in time
  • Organize training and development of new staff added to the project
  • Get fully involved in resolving issues and take part in procedure improvement initiatives
  • Attain project goals by working with management and members of the project team to outline their priorities, and to also resolve conflicts that may come up in the project process
  • Analyze complex problems, apply critical thought and communicate with study team, stakeholders and management to identify solutions
  • Drive technical and logistics activities, including instrument installations, trainings, troubleshooting, and biological sample procurement and transfer for assay validations
  • Evaluate and escalate changes that significantly impact the scope or timeline of the project
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills in person, over the phone, via email, and across teams
  • Communicate complex topics in succinct and practical terms
  • Initiates creation of study specific documents (e.g., Project Management Plan, Communication Plan, Risk Mitigation Plan)

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, chemistry, or engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in project management
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a healthcare industry, preferably in a diagnostic laboratory and/or pharmaceutical development

Preferred Education and Experience

  • MS/PhD/MBA degree
  • PMP certification
  • Experience in leading projects in a matrixed organization and in delivering results using influence without authority
  • Experience in laboratory diagnostics or pharmaceutical trials
