About the job

• The Minor Releases are very fast paced, the workstreams / items in these releases contain Change Requests, and projects that can be classed as small up to large projects.
• We need a Test Manager (GG4 or possibly GG5), a more senior person than Amar
• Retail experience is needed
• Oracle Retail needed (and Oracle Financials would be a bonus)
• They must know and be able to use ALM (Test Plan / Lab, imports/exports etc)
• Experienced managing functional testing, but also Performance testing as this is an important test phase and ones where problems in Wipro process are seen
• Experience of test planning, estimating, resourcing, RAID, daily progress reporting, management of prep, execution and closedown activities. Test assurance of another company’s work is also essential
• Regular experience presenting information to senior stakeholders taking into account the audience i.e. not all updates are in the detail but at an exec summary level
• Must not be a quiet person or afraid of appearing on camera at all times. They must be pro-active
• They will be responsible for the Minor release but also liaise strongly with Jas who will remain the lead person but focus on the Major Releases
• The ways of working from the Major Release Jas has established need to be taken an mirrored in the Minor Releases
• Testing will be carried out by Wipro, our Test Manager will need oversee this, liaising with Wipro’s own Leads
• The TM needs to assure Wipro’s delivery. Making sure the correct processes and governance are followed throughout the test lifecycle, calling out any misses and working with Wipro to correct these
• They will need to be able to negotiate and mediate with Wipro to build and maintain a strong relationship
• This will need to include reviewing scripts and evidence in ALM
• A big part of this role is overseeing the planning for third party support during testing
• Expleo have saved Primark large sums of money through reviewing and questioning Wipro’s plans – this has come about by the Test Manager reviewing Wipro’s plans and spotting problems with those plans and changing them to be more so resource is better utilised
