Job Description

  • As a Lead Software Test Engineer, you will design, develop, troubleshoot and debug automation framework for software enhancements and new products.
  • A successful candidate for this position must possess both deep and wide understanding of complex information systems spanning from Edge to Cloud.
  • As a Lead Software Test Engineer, you will work on different aspects of the testing of data platform deliverables.
  • This role reports to the Software Engineering Manager and is located in Pune

What you will do

  • Independently gathers and documents requirements for testing of software and corresponding test cases are contained in the specifications.
  • Designs, creates, executes, and maintains tests.
  • Participates in reviews of documents, designs, code, test cases and user documentation.
  • Develops automated tests, monitors the results, and reports software defects
  • Develops test documentation required by software development process
  • Supports the team in functional and system requirements analysis required to design and verify added and changed functionality.
  • Provides work estimates and status reports as requested. Maintains adequate interaction to ensure assigned tasks are prioritized appropriately.
  • Responsible for Sprint Planning including breakdown of user stories into smaller tasks that can be estimated in hours
  • Effectively teams with others through mutually supportive professional relationships, open and direct communication, honesty, and respect.
  • Builds relationships and interacts with peers to ensure assigned tasks are prioritized appropriately.
  • Thinks outside the box and is willing to research and explore new avenues to overcome obstacles by utilizing the latest technologies and standards.
  • Takes the lead on identifying and recommending software test capability improvements in the areas of software development practices and development tools
  • Able to learn and understand complex system concepts.

Minimal qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other Engineering, with concentration in software; or equivalent knowledge in the areas of software engineering (software requirements analysis, software design, software testing) desired.
  • Experience on working on Cloud first applications & services
  • Experience in writing Automated test cases, preferably on API first products
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining frameworks for Test Automation and Performance Testing
  • Experience in writing automated tests in Java, Python or JavaScript, Karate, Typescript etc.
  • Experience with REST, GraphQL and gRPC based APIs
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and Test team’s roles in different lifecycle phases
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, like Scrum, SAFe
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
  • Direct experience collaborating with local and global teams
  • Strong interpersonal and English communication (verbal and written)
