The Opportunity

We’re looking for detail-oriented professionals who are passionate about quality assurance. You’ll be a pivotal contributor to our disruptive fintech product that is still in its early stages. As an SDET at Vance, you won’t just be automating tests; manual testing will also be a significant part of your role. This role offers the opportunity to drive QA innovation, pioneer automation, and be a key player in product evolution.

What You’ll Do

• QA Innovation: Influence the testing vertical by driving novel QA processes, including substantial manual testing responsibilities.
• Automation Strategy: Pioneer the adoption of new tools, techniques, and strategies to maximize test efficiency.
• Test Infrastructure: Own the complete test life cycle, including the development of scalable and robust automation frameworks.
• Product Feedback: Actively participate in design reviews, providing invaluable feedback on features and usability.

What We Need:

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of dedicated SDET experience, including hands-on manual testing.
• Mobile Expertise: Strong background in mobile testing for both iOS and Android platforms.
• Debugging Skills: Proficiency in debugging using tools like Charlesproxy, Fiddler, Xcode, or Android Studio.
• Automation: Must have created Mobile Automation frameworks from scratch using Java and Appium.
• Test Tools: Hands-on experience with emulators, simulators, or third-party tools like BrowserStack, pCloudy, AWS Device Hub.
• Language Skills: Familiarity in Java with a good base in object-oriented design and data structures.
• Test Strategy: Proven experience in creating both short-term and long-term test strategies and plans.
• Detail-Oriented: Must be adept at writing detailed test cases, including functional and non-functional, covering all edge cases.
• Version Control: Good experience with git commands and version control.
• Project Management: Familiarity with project management tools like Linear, Jira, ClickUp, RallyDev, or Fogbugz.
• Ownership: Takes full responsibility for end-to-end feature releases.

Good to Have

• SQL: Basic experience in SQL queries.
• Web Automation: Experience in web application automation like Selenium, WebDriver, Cypress with Javascript, or other tools.
• API Testing: Experience in Backend API testing using RestAssured framework with TestNg and Maven/Gradle.
• Fintech Knowledge: Experience and knowledge in the Financial Services domain is a major plus.
• Cloud and Containers: Familiarity with Docker and AWS is an added advantage.
• CI/CD: Experience with Jenkins or similar continuous integration and continuous delivery tools.
