Position: Test Engineer – Manual Testing
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to understand software requirements and design effective manual test plans.
- Execute manual test cases to validate the functionality, usability, and performance of software applications.
- Perform functional testing to ensure that software meets the specified requirements and performs as expected.
- Identify, analyze, and report software defects using defect tracking tools, such as JIRA, and work closely with the development team to facilitate their resolution.
- Conduct root cause analysis of failures, document test results, and provide recommendations for process improvements and test case optimization.
- Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports, to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Collaborate with the automation testing team to identify test scenarios suitable for automation and provide input for test script development.
- Utilize Agile and SCRUM methodologies to ensure efficient test execution and timely delivery of high-quality software.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including project managers and business users, to provide status updates, clarify requirements, and address any testing-related issues.
- Be willing to travel for onsite job assignments, ranging from short-term to long-term assignments, as required by the project.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manual testing, with a strong focus on functional testing.
- Proficiency in creating and executing test cases, test plans, and test reports.
- Knowledge of defect tracking tools, such as JIRA, and experience in reporting and tracking defects.
- Experience testing multiple concurrent projects, demonstrating the ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Agile and SCRUM methodologies, with experience working in Agile development teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and isolate software defects effectively.
- Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel for onsite job assignments, as required by the project.
