Senior Functional Tester | Hybrid | 7+ years

Position: Senior Functional Tester

Location: Bangalore

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Review business and software requirements, and provide inputs to enhance the quality of the software.
2. Prepare and review test plans and test strategies to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
3. Develop test cases, test scripts, and test data that align with the project requirements.
4. Perform testing activities, including manual and automated testing, for web, mobile, and API applications.
5. Execute test cases and report defects, ensuring accurate documentation and understanding of the issues.
6. Prepare and present test reports, highlighting test results, findings, and recommendations.
7. Analyze test results, identify trends, and track software testing deliverables.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders, to ensure effective communication and timely resolution of issues.
9. Work in Agile teams, actively participating in sprint planning, grooming sessions, and detailing Product Backlog Items (PBIs).
10. Apply strong testing fundamentals and industry best practices to improve the overall quality of the software.
11. Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and methodologies in software testing and quality assurance.
12. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, sharing knowledge and promoting a collaborative work environment.
13. Test management experience in healthcare software is desirable but not mandatory.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 7+ years of experience in web, mobile, and API testing.
2. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering field or equivalent experience.
3. Any certifications such as ISTQB, MS certification, or related certifications will be considered an added value.
4. Proven experience in quality assurance techniques, methodologies, and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
5. Strong understanding of functional testing principles and practices.
6. Proficiency in creating and executing test cases, test scripts, and test data.
7. Experience in API testing using tools like SOAP UI or POSTMAN.
8. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in Agile teams.
9. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
10. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
11. Test management experience in healthcare software is desirable but not mandatory.
