Position: QA – Hybrid

Location: Gurgaon

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze system specifications: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand system requirements and specifications. Review documentation and engage in discussions to gain a thorough understanding of the software under test.
  • Develop effective strategies and test plans: Work closely with QA Engineers to develop comprehensive test strategies and plans. Define test objectives, test scenarios, and test cases based on system requirements and specifications.
  • Execute test cases and analyze results: Perform manual and automated testing, execute test cases, and analyze test results. Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies. Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Evaluate product code: Evaluate software code against specified requirements to ensure alignment and adherence to quality standards. Identify areas of improvement and provide feedback to the development team.
  • Document testing phases and defects: Create detailed test logs and reports to document testing activities, test coverage, and defects discovered during the testing process. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of testing activities for future reference.
  • Report bugs and errors: Effectively report and communicate identified bugs and errors to development teams using appropriate tools and channels. Provide detailed descriptions and steps to reproduce the issues to facilitate efficient troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Troubleshoot issues: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and support teams, to troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolution. Contribute to root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts.
  • Post-release/post-implementation testing: Conduct post-release or post-implementation testing to validate software changes and updates. Ensure that the software operates as expected in different environments and configurations.
  • Ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle: Work closely with cross-functional teams to embed quality practices and principles throughout the software development lifecycle. Provide input and recommendations to enhance the overall quality and reliability of the software.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in quality assurance testing, preferably in a software development environment.
  • Experience in project management and QA methodology: Familiarity with project management practices and quality assurance methodologies. Understanding of software development lifecycle and agile frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus: Experience working in Agile development environments and familiarity with regression testing approaches will be an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of test management software and SQL: Proficiency in using test management software (e.g., qTest, Zephyr) for test case management and tracking. Basic knowledge of SQL for database testing and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly articulate testing activities, issues, and results.
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and troubleshoot software defects and inconsistencies. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
