Position: QA Engineer
Location: Bangalore
Job Summary: VARITE, a leading technology consulting and staffing company, is seeking a skilled and motivated QA Engineer to join our team in Bangalore. As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of web applications by designing and executing comprehensive test plans. You will utilize your expertise in web testing, along with tools like Selenium JAVA, Appium, TestNG, Puppeteer, and Maven, to perform automated and manual testing. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications using tools like Selenium JAVA, Appium, TestNG, Puppeteer, and Maven.
- Perform manual and automated testing of web applications to identify and report defects.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to understand requirements and verify the implementation of functionalities.
- Perform functional, regression, and performance testing to ensure the reliability and usability of web applications.
- Conduct compatibility testing across different browsers, devices, and platforms.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using a defect tracking system.
- Reproduce and debug issues to assist in root cause analysis and defect resolution.
- Develop and maintain test environments, test data, and test configurations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper test coverage and timely delivery of high-quality software.
- Perform code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Stay updated with the latest web testing tools, techniques, and industry trends.
- Contribute to process improvements and best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience as a QA Engineer, with a focus on web testing.
- Strong knowledge of web testing methodologies, processes, and best practices.
- Proficiency in using tools such as Selenium JAVA, Appium, TestNG, Puppeteer, and Maven for web automation.
- Experience in manual testing, including test case design, execution, and defect reporting.
- Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and HTTP.
- Good understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of SQL and ability to write and execute database queries.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- ISTQB certification or any other relevant testing certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is desirable.
