Job Description:
As a Performance Test Engineer at Testhouse India Pvt Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of software systems. Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of skills and knowledge, and your contributions will be vital to enhancing the quality of our solutions.

- Demonstrated broad base knowledge of computing basics, including understanding CPU, memory, and other hardware components.
- Proficiency in operating system concepts and basic scripting, utilizing tools like cmd for Windows and shell for Linux.
- Understanding of network protocols and distributed systems design, including shared resources such as databases and message queues.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and modern software construction processes, from ideation to coding and deployment.
- High-level comprehension of various development methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and DevOps.
- Basic coding proficiency in multiple languages, such as Groovy and Java.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Ability to comprehend and interpret architecture diagrams, allowing visualization of distributed systems.
- Knowledge of scalability, capacity, and reliability, and the ability to differentiate between them.
- Identification of underlying resources, their key performance indicators (KPIs), and utilization metrics.
- Understanding of system workload analysis, whether by examining production environments or based on provided requirements.
- Skill in identifying critical transactions and workload modeling to ensure accurate performance testing.
- Proficiency in performance test scripting, emphasizing the application of coding skills to simulate system communications effectively. This includes more than just record and replay using tools.
- Experience in performance monitoring and log analysis to identify potential performance bottlenecks.
- Automation skills to automate repetitive manual activities in performance testing, such as test data creation, execution, and basic results analysis.
- Performance testing expertise in cloud-native solutions, encompassing tuning compute resources (vertical vs. horizontal scaling) for cost optimization on cloud platforms. Also, validating fungible and autoscaling microservice architectures.
Hands-On Experience in the Following Tools/Technologies:
- JMeter: Proficiency in load testing, particularly for backend systems, including databases.
- APIs: Ability to conduct performance testing of APIs, ensuring optimal response times and scalability.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in performance testing.
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of performance testing methodologies and best practices.
- Proven experience in performance test scripting and hands-on proficiency in tools like JMeter.
- Familiarity with cloud-native solutions and performance optimization in cloud environments.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
