Role: Manual Test Engineer

As a Manual Test Engineer at Talent Zone Consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products by conducting thorough manual testing. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to create and execute test plans, report defects, and contribute to the overall testing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Test Planning and Design: Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand software requirements and design comprehensive test plans. Create detailed test cases and test scripts to ensure adequate test coverage.
  2. Manual Testing: Perform manual testing of software applications to verify their functionality, usability, and adherence to specifications. Conduct system testing, integration testing, and regression testing to identify defects and ensure product quality.
  3. Automation Testing: Utilize QTP-Quick Test Professional to develop and execute automated test scripts. Identify opportunities for test automation and implement automation frameworks where appropriate.
  4. Defect Reporting and Tracking: Log defects in the defect tracking system (e.g., JIRA) and ensure timely communication with the development team. Follow up on defect resolution and retest fixes.
  5. Documentation: Maintain detailed and organized test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and test results. Create test summary reports and provide status updates to project stakeholders.
  6. Test Environment Setup: Collaborate with the development team to set up test environments and ensure they accurately mimic production environments.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Continuously enhance testing processes and methodologies to optimize efficiency and effectiveness. Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in software testing.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), or Master of Technology (M.Tech) in a relevant field.
  • Experience: 3-4 years of proven experience as a Manual Test Engineer, with a strong understanding of the software testing life cycle.
  • Manual Testing Expertise: Proficiency in manual testing techniques, including test case creation, execution, and defect reporting.
  • Automation Testing: Experience with QTP-Quick Test Professional or other automation testing tools.
  • System and Integration Testing: Hands-on experience in conducting system testing and integration testing to validate end-to-end application functionality.
  • Defect Tracking: Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as JIRA for effective defect management.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and isolate defects effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
