Position: Manual API Tester
Location: Mumbai, India
Tionix, a leading technology company specializing in software testing and quality assurance, is seeking a skilled and experienced Manual API Tester to join our team in Mumbai. As a Manual API Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our clients’ API-driven applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in API testing, proficiency in using tools like Postman, and expertise in working with databases and SQL. Responsibilities:
- Perform manual testing of APIs, including functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Review API specifications and requirements to develop comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Execute test cases using tools like Postman, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Validate and verify data by performing database testing using SQL queries and ensuring proper data integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system engineers, and project managers, to understand project requirements and ensure the timely resolution of testing issues.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies, and work closely with development teams to resolve them.
- Conduct API testing to ensure seamless integration and data exchange between different systems and components.
- Perform compatibility testing of APIs across various platforms, browsers, and devices.
- Participate in the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) process, including test planning, test design, test execution, and defect management.
- Provide accurate and timely reports on testing progress, including test coverage, test results, and any identified risks or issues.
- Continuously improve testing processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of API testing activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Manual API Tester, with 2-8 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge and experience in API testing, including functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Proficiency in using tools like Postman for API testing and validation.
- Good understanding of databases and SQL, with the ability to write and execute SQL queries for data validation and integrity checks.
- Familiarity with the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) process and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, isolate, and reproduce defects.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions to clients.
- Experience in testing web services, RESTful APIs, SOAP APIs, or microservices is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA is desirable.
