Position: Lead QA – Functional Tester

Location: Hyderabad, India (Currently in Hyderabad)

Notice Period: Immediate to Last Working Day (LWD) – 24th July 2023

Mode: Hybrid (3 Days from Office)

Job Description:

As the Lead QA – Functional Tester, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products, with a primary focus on functional testing complemented by automation testing. Your experience in the Life Insurance and Annuities domain will be highly valuable, and any LOMA certification, especially FLMI Level 1, will be a significant advantage. You will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams, writing comprehensive test plans, and ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Functional Testing and Automation:
  • Conduct functional testing of software applications within the Life Insurance/Annuities domain (80%).
  • Leverage automation testing (20%) to enhance test efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and execute automated test scripts using relevant tools and frameworks.
  1. Domain Knowledge and Expertise:
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the Life Insurance and Annuities domain.
  • Prior experience in Annuities Product knowledge and LOMA certification is a plus.
  1. Test Planning and Execution:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define test scope, objectives, and success criteria.
  • Write comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
  1. Software Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure adherence to software quality assurance processes and best practices.
  • Implement and administer Software Quality Assurance metrics.
  1. Client Interaction and Consulting:
  • Interact with clients to understand requirements and provide testing recommendations.
  • Utilize strong consulting skills to offer valuable insights and solutions.
  1. Bug Regression and Tracking:
  • Perform bug regression and tracking to ensure all known issues are addressed.
  1. Agile and Waterfall Methodologies:
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of different software development life cycles (agile, waterfall).
  1. Communication and Collaboration:
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  1. Database Knowledge:
  • Possess a good understanding of databases (knowledge in this area is considered an advantage).

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience in functional testing, with at least 20% experience in automation testing.
  • Strong expertise in the Life Insurance and Annuities domain is mandatory.
  • LOMA certification, especially FLMI Level 1, is a significant plus.
  • Excellent understanding of software quality assurance processes and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in writing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Exposure to testing automation tools and frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Outstanding consulting and client-facing skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
