Position: HIL Test Engineer

Location: Bangalore, India

IELEKTRON Tech, a leading technology company specializing in the automotive domain, is seeking a skilled and motivated HIL Test Engineer to join our team in Bangalore. As a HIL Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and executing Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) tests to validate and verify automotive software systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive testing, familiarity with relevant tools and scripting languages, and a solid understanding of testing concepts and methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and design test strategies and plans for HIL testing.
  • Develop, design, and implement HIL test cases and test scripts based on project specifications and requirements.
  • Execute HIL tests using CAN, CANoe, UDS, and other relevant tools, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the test results.
  • Configure and maintain the HIL test bench setup, ensuring its proper functionality and readiness for testing activities.
  • Conduct test execution on the HIL bench setup, adhering to established test procedures and guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues encountered during HIL test execution, working closely with the development team to resolve them.
  • Perform diagnostics using UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) protocols, ensuring the proper functioning of automotive systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system engineers, and project managers, to address test-related issues and provide insights for test improvements.
  • Utilize scripting languages such as CAPL, Python, or Perl to automate testing tasks and enhance test efficiency.
  • Work with HIL benches such as Vector VT, Dspace, or NI to perform HIL testing and ensure the accurate simulation of real-world automotive environments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in HIL testing, preferably in the automotive domain.
  • Proficiency in using tools such as CAN, CANoe, UDS, and CAPL for HIL testing.
  • Strong knowledge of testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with automotive protocols and diagnostics, particularly UDS.
  • Experience in developing or designing test cases for HIL testing.
  • Ability to set up and configure HIL test benches, such as Vector VT, Dspace, or NI.
  • Good understanding of scripting languages like CAPL, Python, or Perl for test automation.
  • Familiarity with software version control systems and defect tracking tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and debug issues in complex systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
