What You’ll Be Doing:
Evolent Health is looking for a Lead Software Engineer who will be responsible for building and maintaining healthcare software solutions while working and collaborating with our cross-functional teams in Arlington, Chicago and India. This individual will play a critical role in executing Evolent Health’s mission by architecting, developing and maintaining technical processes around the Java platform assets to ensure success in terms of both revenue and timely release of current and next generation products and capabilities.
Essential functions:
- Research, troubleshoot, debug and support Data hub/Boson rules engine and related products.
- Develop and maintain Data hub/Boson rules engine based upon technical specifications and/or verbal direction.
- Lead the software team through all phases of the SDLC using industry best practices that are secure and scalable.
- Collaborate with product and business owners in the development and execution of all types of software development considering the objectives of the organization.
- Ensure solutions exceed standards for quality, architectural integrity, performance, scalability, security, and availability.
- Explore and implement new technologies, frameworks, and tools.
- Provide thought leadership in the areas of strategy and technology.
- Recruiting and mentoring team members
- Ensure team commitments are met and works with product to establish reliable timelines.
- Locate bottlenecks and drive process improvements.
- Perform code reviews.
- Communicate and interact with Quality Assurance, Business Analysis, Hosting Services/IT and Project Managers to ensure project success measure by timelines and quality measures while adhering to the SDLC.
- US time availability for technical calls with clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skill Set Requirements
- Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.
- Excellent experience with Object Oriented programming, analysis and design using common design patterns.
- Experience working on migration/movement of data of large volume.
- Insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)
- Hands on experience on Linux.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (shell, bash)
- Excellent experience with ReSTful services and Spring IoC
- Excellent experience in HTML, Javascript, JQuery and CSS
- Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases like SQL Server
- Good understanding of data structures and algorithims
- Hands on experience working with JBoss.
- Demonstrable knowledge of build processes and build tools (Jenkins, Maven)
- Knowledge around Big data Technologies.
- Experience with test-driven development.
- Excellent learning abilities
- Good Team player
- Good verbal & written communication skills
Required
- BS/BE/BTech degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- More than 8 years experience software development experience
- Proven working experience in Java and development (6 years)
- Proven experience of leading/managing mid-size Software Development team (2-3yr)
