Mississippi Consultants, a leading technology solutions provider, is currently seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior QA (Quality Assurance) professional to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Software Testing and Software Quality Assurance. The role requires expertise in working with various testing tools and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools, along with proficiency in multiple RDBMS (Relational Database Management Systems). Additionally, experience with cloud technologies and a clear understanding of QA concepts and methodologies are essential for this position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Software Testing: Perform comprehensive software testing and quality assurance activities to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
  2. Testing Tools: Utilize a range of testing tools effectively to facilitate the testing process and ensure efficient bug tracking and reporting.
  3. ETL Tools: Possess hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, and Talend for data integration and transformation.
  4. RDBMS Experience: Work with various RDBMS platforms, including Teradata, Netezza, SQL Server, Greenplum, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, MySQL, and Hive, for data validation and verification.
  5. Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with cloud technologies like Azure, GCP, Snowflake, AWS, Yellowbrick, and Databricks to support data testing and integration in a cloud environment.
  6. QA Concepts: Demonstrate a clear understanding and knowledge of QA concepts, methodologies, and testing techniques to drive efficient testing processes.
  7. Performance Testing: Experience in performance testing, including stress testing, concurrency testing, and load testing, along with proficiency in associated tools.
  8. Manual and Automated Testing: Proficient in both manual and automated testing, and experienced in using software test automation tools.
  9. SQL Proficiency: Strong SQL background with the ability to write complex SQL queries based on the test scenarios.
  10. Test Automation: Develop and maintain automated tests to support regression and health check testing.
  11. Backend Database Testing: Conduct backend database testing in different environments to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  12. Test Execution and Reporting: Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases, and report test results to stakeholders.
  13. Defect Management: Isolate, replicate, and report defects, and verify defect fixes to ensure quality deliverables.
  14. QA Risk Management: Identify and manage QA risks, and create mitigation plans to address potential issues.
  15. Data Analysis: Strong experience in working with large and complex data sets, performing data analysis for testing purposes.
  16. Test Case and Test Scripts: Develop and maintain test cases and test scripts for comprehensive test coverage.
  17. Project Management: Experience in project, time, and risk management to ensure smooth project delivery.
  18. Agile and Scrum: Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies for efficient project execution and delivery.
  19. Education: University degree or college diploma in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Software Testing and Software Quality Assurance roles.
  2. Technical Skills:
    • Experience with various testing tools and ETL tools (Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, Talend).
    • Proficiency in multiple RDBMS platforms (Teradata, Netezza, SQL Server, Greenplum, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, MySQL, Hive).
    • Familiarity with cloud technologies (Azure, GCP, Snowflake, AWS, Yellowbrick, Databricks).
    • Clear understanding of QA concepts, methodologies, and testing techniques.
    • Performance testing experience and knowledge of associated tools.
    • Manual and automated testing experience with software test automation tools.
    • Strong SQL background for writing complex SQL queries.
  3. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  4. Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail for defect isolation and resolution.
  5. Risk Management: Ability to manage QA risks and develop mitigation plans.
  6. Data Analysis: Proficient in working with large and complex data sets for data analysis.
  7. Project Management: Experience in project, time, and risk management.
  8. Agile and Scrum: Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  9. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
