Position: ETL Tester
Location: Bangalore, India
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for ETL processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
- Perform end-to-end testing of data extraction, transformation, and loading processes to validate the functionality and performance of ETL workflows.
- Identify, analyze, and document defects, issues, and risks related to data quality, ETL processes, and data warehouse solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and data engineers to understand project requirements and ensure alignment with ETL testing objectives.
- Utilize SQL queries and scripts to extract, transform, and load data into test environments, ensuring data consistency and adherence to business rules.
- Conduct root cause analysis of issues, investigate and troubleshoot data anomalies, and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Participate in data migration activities, including data profiling, data cleansing, and data validation, ensuring successful and accurate data transfers.
- Validate data transformations and mappings by comparing source and target data sets and verifying data accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and maintain documentation including test plans, test cases, and test scripts, ensuring comprehensive coverage of ETL testing activities.
- Collaborate with the development team to provide feedback on data quality issues and participate in the design and implementation of data quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in ETL testing methodologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6-8 years of experience as an ETL Tester, with a focus on SQL, Data Warehouse, Data Migration, and ETL Testing projects.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools and technologies such as ADLS, ADF, and Azure Data Bricks.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data integration techniques, and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with data quality assurance principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience in data migration activities, including data profiling, cleansing, and validation.
- Ability to write complex SQL queries to validate data transformations and mappings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
