Responsibilities:

As an ETL Test Engineer – Automation, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes through the design and implementation of automated test frameworks. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and develop robust testing strategies to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality data integration solutions.

  1. Complex New Initiative: You will be part of a challenging and exciting project with 30% of US working hours overlap, collaborating with global teams to ensure project success.
  2. Automation Testing: Utilize your extensive experience in automation testing across various technologies and product sets to develop and execute comprehensive test suites.
  3. File Format Expertise: Leverage your deep understanding of file formats, including CSV, JSON, XML, AVRO, and PARQUET, to validate data integrity and correctness in ETL processes.
  4. Spark and Snowflake Snowpark: Demonstrate your expertise in automated testing using Scala Programming with Spark and Snowflake Snowpark to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  5. Test Framework Development: Design and build automation test frameworks to enhance test coverage, efficiency, and scalability.
  6. Front-end and Back-end Testing: Perform testing at both the front-end and back-end levels to ensure end-to-end data integrity and consistency.
  7. Bug Verification and Tracking: Identify, verify, track, and facilitate the resolution of defects, working closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure timely fixes.
  8. Test Planning and Execution: Prepare test plans, design test cases, execute tests, and generate comprehensive test reports to provide clear visibility into the test progress and results.
  9. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation following IQVIA standard operating procedures to ensure clear understanding and traceability of testing activities.
  10. Defect Management: Utilize Jira or other defect management tools to effectively report, track, and manage defects throughout their lifecycle.
  11. Collaboration: Collaborate as a key member of the Delivery Team to understand project requirements, technical solutions, and system functionality under test.
  12. Domain Knowledge: Work closely with developers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gain insights into the business domain and ensure accurate validation of ETL processes.
  13. Agile Environment: Leverage approved test automation frameworks to develop automation scripts in a fast-paced agile environment, meeting sprint deliverables.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  1. 7+ years of experience in automation testing across various technologies and product sets.
  2. Proficiency in testing file formats, including CSV, JSON, XML, AVRO, and PARQUET.
  3. Minimum of 4 years of hands-on automated testing experience with Spark and Snowflake Snowpark, using Scala Programming.
  4. Strong expertise in designing and building automation test frameworks.
  5. Sound knowledge of both front-end and back-end testing methodologies.
  6. Familiarity with bug tracking and defect management tools, preferably Jira.
  7. Experience in test preparation, test design, execution, and reporting.
  8. Excellent documentation skills in adherence to standard operating procedures.
  9. Exposure to defect management lifecycle from defect reporting to resolution.
  10. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers and SMEs.
  11. Solid understanding of ETL concepts and data integration processes.
  12. Experience working in an agile development environment, meeting sprint goals and timelines.
