Role Responsibilities

  • The VP Mgr. Quality Assurance will be responsible for championing the QA process, building, and mentoring the QA team, and establishing quality metrics and best practices across the organization.
  • Work with the domains/business units to understand quality assurance needs. Assign and manage Quality Assurance resources to project teams, establish compliance of new standards, processes, and tools.
    Establish quality assurance best practices and benchmarks and drive adoption across the QA team.
    Develop a quality assurance staff by participating on the recruiting, selection, orientation, and training of employees.
    Work closely with and mentor more junior Quality Assurance engineers, help stablish the organization’s QA roadmap, and build a world-class QA engineering team.
    Arrange and sponsor appropriate assignments and experiences to help team members realise their potential and support their long-term aspirations.
    Drive continuous improvements in product testing processes (test plans, automation, testing resources, etc.).
    Document and/or review testing results working closely with developers and product owners to resolve reported issues.
    Implement metrics, analyze test data and results to identify patterns, report on risk status to development partners and influence software quality.
    Participate in design, code and test plan reviews as needed and provide appropriate recommendations.
    Work within an agile team environment to perform software verification activities. Design, develop, drive, and deliver high-level test strategies, methodologies and take a hands-on approach to see that they are implemented timely and efficiently

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of QA experience. 2+ years’ experience leading or managing the QA practice.
  • Proven experience supervising a team.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Experience in implementing and shaping QA processes and strategies.
  • Strong technical skills both functional and non-functional, ideally in a continuous delivery environment.
  • Knowledge of various software testing methods (Regression, Load/Stress, Code Coverage Analysis, Black/White box testing, Acceptance, Performance)
  • Ability to work in an Agile team environment and handle changing priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure and tight deadlines, and work independently.
  • Ability to communicate with and present to engineers, senior management, and relevant stakeholders.
