Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of Alcon’s medical devices and technologies.
2. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, product managers, and quality assurance team members, to understand project requirements and test objectives.
3. Conduct thorough testing of software applications, medical devices, and related systems using both automated and manual testing methods.
4. Develop and execute test cases, test plans, and test scenarios based on product specifications and user requirements.
5. Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
6. Continuously improve and expand the test automation framework to optimize test execution, enhance test coverage, and reduce maintenance efforts.
7. Conduct risk assessments and contribute to the creation of risk-based testing strategies to ensure the safety and reliability of medical devices.
8. Execute performance and load testing to evaluate system responsiveness, stability, and scalability.
9. Stay abreast of industry best practices, advancements in testing technologies, and regulatory requirements related to medical device testing.
10. Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members to promote knowledge sharing and skill development within the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field. Advanced degree preferred.
2. Proven experience as a Senior Automation V&V Engineer with a focus on both Automation and Manual Testing.
3. Strong proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, or similar.
4. Hands-on experience in scripting and programming languages, such as Java, Python, or C++, to develop automated test scripts.
5. Knowledge of medical device regulations, including ISO 13485 and FDA guidelines, is highly desirable.
6. Experience in testing medical devices or healthcare-related software is an advantage.
7. Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing methodologies.
8. Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools, such as Jira or HP ALM.
9. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
11. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
