Key Responsibilities:

As an SDET Engineer at Telus International, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality of our software products through rigorous testing and automation. Your responsibilities will span a wide array of testing activities, from test automation to quality assurance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Test Automation Frameworks: Leverage your experience to set up, maintain, and execute test automation frameworks across various application platforms, including Web, Mobile, and Desktop.
  • Scripting Languages & Tooling: Utilize your strong hands-on experience with scripting languages and tools such as Selenium, Karate Framework, Robot Framework, Cypress, Cucumber, BDD, Core Java, Python, Groovy, and JavaScript for UI and API applications.
  • Automation Script Development: Demonstrate solid experience in developing and debugging automation scripts, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Test Management & CI Tools: Utilize test management and CI tools such as Jira and Jenkins to manage test cases, automate testing processes, and support continuous integration.
  • Expertise in QA & QE: Apply your experience in QA and QE, along with your understanding of agile process development (DevOps), service virtualization, test data management, and CI/CD/CT.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise, perform quality audits on processes and people, and ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Focus on continuous improvement through test automation executed in a CI approach, deriving best practices, and enhancing test frameworks to improve test coverage.
  • Review & Collaboration: Review functional specifications, technical design documents, test plans, and test cases, providing timely and meaningful feedback. Collaborate closely with the development team to identify and automate test cases for new feature releases.
  • Communication & Bug Tracking: Communicate automation test results, highlight potential quality risks, identify, troubleshoot, and track bugs to resolution.
  • Automation Advocacy: Advocate for automation, collaborate with leads to decrease efforts in manual testing, and champion test automation best practices.
  • Agile Team Participation: Bring your working experience in Agile teams, contributing to iterative development and delivering high-quality software.
  • Client Interaction: Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with client-facing experience, to effectively communicate testing status and progress.

Additional Job Description:

We’re assembling a team of talented SDETs to drive the evolution of our software delivery. As an SDET Engineer at Telus International, you will:

  • Develop and execute automated test scripts to ensure the highest software quality.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify test requirements and enhance test coverage.
  • Design and implement testing strategies, frameworks, and tools to optimize the testing process.
  • Conduct rigorous testing on various platforms and environments, identifying and reporting issues.
  • Champion best practices for test automation and quality assurance, advocating for a culture of excellence.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 – 8 years of hands-on experience in software development, test automation, and quality assurance.
  • Strong expertise in setting up and maintaining test automation frameworks for Web, Mobile, and Desktop applications.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages and tools such as Selenium, Karate Framework, Robot Framework, Cypress, Cucumber, BDD, Core Java, Python, Groovy, and JavaScript.
  • Solid experience in developing, debugging, and executing automation scripts to ensure accurate testing.
  • Familiarity with test management and CI tools such as Jira and Jenkins, supporting continuous integration and automation processes.
  • Knowledge and experience in QA, QE, agile processes (DevOps), service virtualization, test data management, and CI/CD/CT.
  • Ability to provide subject matter expertise, perform quality audits, and maintain compliance with standards and procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills and a focus on continuous improvement, utilizing methodologies and techniques to enhance test coverage.
  • Proficiency in reviewing functional specifications, technical design documents, test plans, and test cases, providing valuable feedback.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in client-facing interactions.
