Job Summary:

As an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) specializing in Automation Testing, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications. Your expertise in Java, Selenium, Appium, Rest Assured, and API Testing will be crucial in designing and executing automation frameworks for both UI and backend services. You will lead the Automation Testing Team and collaborate with stakeholders to define testing scopes and strategies, contributing to the success of our projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Building and Leading Automation Testing Team: Lead the Automation Testing Team, guiding them to achieve project success and meet quality standards.
2. Scope Definition: Define the scope of testing for each release or delivery, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
3. Automation Frameworks: Create and maintain automation frameworks, elevating the level of automation across the organization.
4. Test Creation and Maintenance: Design, create, and maintain automated tests for various types, including Functional, API, and Mobile testing.
5. Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing of backend services using tools like JMeter (good to have).
6. Resource Allocation: Identify required testing skills for software development requirements and allocate resources accordingly.
7. Document Management: Maintain all testing-related documents, including Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, and Test Results.
8. Mentorship: Mentor and nurture junior talent to build a skilled and delivery-oriented team.
9. Best Practices: Implement best practices in test automation methodologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
10. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement and innovation in engineering deliveries.
11. Automation Strategy: Participate and demonstrate expertise in automation strategy and contribute to framework development.
12. Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and plan test schedules and strategies based on project scope and delivery dates.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

1. 2+ years of experience in Automation Testing with strong proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Java.
2. In-depth knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
3. Expertise in automation and manual testing of APIs, UI, database, and data pipelines.
4. Prior experience in automation of Rest-based web services using Java (TestNG, Maven, HttpClient, Rest Assured, JAXB, JAXRS, Jersey, Jackson, JMeter).
5. Hands-on automation experience with Selenium & Appium for UI testing.
6. Proven experience in creating optimal test strategies and plans for both short-term and long-term projects.
7. Strong expertise in functional and non-functional automation for Web and Rest services.
8. Familiarity with setting automation frameworks and using tools like Docker, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
