Job Summary: As a QA Engineer at NetApp Cloud Volume Engineering, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our cloud-based data management solutions. You will leverage Python-based test frameworks to automate testing processes, participate in test planning and execution, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Test Automation: Develop and maintain automated test suites using Python-based frameworks to validate the functionality, performance, and scalability of our cloud-based data management products.
  2. Test Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and architects, to understand requirements, create test plans, and define test cases to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  3. Test Execution: Execute test cases, record and analyze test results, and report defects in a clear and concise manner. Work closely with the development team to troubleshoot issues and ensure timely resolution.
  4. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement, efficiency gains, and test optimization. Drive initiatives to enhance test automation infrastructure, frameworks, and methodologies.
  5. Product Quality: Advocate for product quality and actively participate in design reviews and discussions to ensure testability and maintainability of features.
  6. Test Documentation: Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports, to provide clear insights into the testing process and results.
  7. Collaboration: Work collaboratively within the QA team and across other engineering teams to foster a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
  8. Stay Updated: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in QA and automation testing. Apply this knowledge to enhance the overall test strategy.
  9. Product Release Support: Provide support during product release cycles, including validation of release candidates and ensuring smooth product rollouts.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  2. Experience: Proven experience as a QA Engineer or Software Test Engineer, with a focus on test automation using Python-based frameworks.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python programming for test automation. Familiarity with other programming languages is an advantage.
  4. Cloud Knowledge: Understanding of cloud technologies and microservices architecture is preferred.
  5. Testing Tools: Experience with test automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium or pytest, is desirable.
  6. Storage Domain: Prior experience in storage testing or data management is a plus but not mandatory.
  7. Team Player: Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  8. Problem Solver: Analytical mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  9. Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and requirements.
