Key Responsibilities:

  1. Network Test Automation: Design, develop, and execute automated test suites to validate the functionality and performance of Google’s network systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the automation strategy, ensuring efficient and accurate test coverage.
  2. Network Testing and Validation: Plan and execute comprehensive tests to assess network protocols, peering, troubleshooting, and design. Identify, document, and communicate test results, highlighting areas for improvement and potential risks.
  3. TCP/IP and IP Peering: Apply your expertise in TCP/IP and IP peering to analyze, test, and optimize network communication protocols. Ensure seamless data transmission and efficient routing across Google’s vast network infrastructure.
  4. Network Protocol Management: Evaluate, implement, and maintain network protocols to ensure compatibility, reliability, and security. Collaborate with network architects to enhance protocol efficiency and adaptability.
  5. Network Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve network issues, both independently and collaboratively with network operations teams. Utilize your troubleshooting skills to diagnose complex network problems and implement effective solutions.
  6. Network Design Enhancement: Contribute to the design and architecture of Google’s network systems, focusing on scalability, performance, and resiliency. Collaborate with network designers to implement improvements and innovations.
  7. Programming Skills: Utilize your programming proficiency in C++ and Go to develop tools, scripts, and utilities for network testing, analysis, and automation. Leverage your coding skills to enhance testing frameworks and streamline processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of relevant experience in Network Testing, with a strong understanding of network concepts and protocols.
  • Proficiency in network test automation methodologies and tools, demonstrating the ability to design and execute comprehensive automated test suites.
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP and IP peering, along with experience in optimizing network protocols for performance and reliability.
  • Strong grasp of network protocol management, troubleshooting, and design principles.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Go, with the ability to develop tools and scripts to facilitate network testing and automation.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive testing efforts and address network issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to document and present test results, findings, and recommendations.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to learning and staying up-to-date with evolving network technologies and industry trends.
