Position: Data QA Tester

Location: Remote/Contract

Job Description: As a Data QA Tester at Globalwave Softech, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions. You will be involved in every phase of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and will focus on functional testability, automation, and performance testing. Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Selecting and Integrating Data Tools and Frameworks: You will be responsible for identifying and integrating data tools and frameworks necessary to provide the required capabilities for testing our software solutions. Your expertise will be essential in selecting the most suitable tools and ensuring their effective implementation.
  2. Providing Technical Guidance: You will offer technical guidance and support to software engineers involved in the design, coding, reviewing, and testing of enterprise software. Your experience and knowledge will contribute to the overall quality of our software products.
  3. Collaboration with Data Scientists and Engineers: Working closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Software Engineers, you will understand data and models to develop QA tests that validate the functionality and performance of the software. This collaboration will be critical in ensuring that our solutions meet the required standards.
  4. ETL Testing Implementation: You will play a significant role in implementing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) testing processes to validate the accuracy and reliability of data transformations within our systems.

Desired Skills and Experience:

To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  1. Data Model and Mapping Review: You should have the ability to review Data Models, Data Mappings, and Architectural Documentation to create and execute effective System Integration Test (SIT) suites.
  2. SQL and PL/SQL Proficiency: You must be skilled in transforming complex business logic into SQL or PL/SQL queries for data validation purposes.
  3. Data Validation and Integration: Experience with validating data from multiple sources and integrating data from various data sources will be essential for this role.
  4. Big Data and Cloud Concepts: A good understanding of Big Data and Cloud concepts will be highly advantageous in contributing to our data testing efforts.
  5. Database and Data Warehouse Knowledge: You should possess knowledge of database and data warehouse concepts, such as star schemas, snowflakes, dimensions, and facts, to perform effective data testing.
  6. Automation Testing: Hands-on experience in automation testing specifically related to data testing is a crucial requirement for this role. Proficiency in programming languages like Python will be beneficial.
  7. Defect Management: You should be skilled in analyzing and troubleshooting erroneous results, identifying the root cause of defects, and logging defects in defect management tools. Collaborating with the development team to resolve software-related defects will also be part of your responsibility.
  8. Effective Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams, including Business Analysts, Developers, and other testers, are essential for ensuring timely and effective testing efforts.
  9. Business Intelligence (BI) Tools: Experience with BI tools like PowerBI and Tableau will be considered a plus.
