Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Test Planning and Coverage:
    • Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases to ensure appropriate test coverage for software applications.
    • Identify potential problems with applications and perform rigorous testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  2. Test Execution and Reporting:
    • Execute functional and regression test cases as per defined test plans.
    • Communicate test results effectively to leadership and the respective development teams.
    • Own the responsibility for the quality of projects throughout the testing phase.
  3. Test Script Management:
    • Manage and maintain all test scripts and their execution using TestRail, ensuring accurate documentation and version control.
  4. Automation Test Script Development:
    • Develop and maintain modular, reusable automated User Interface (UI) and Application Programming Interface (API) test scripts.
    • Utilize tools like Katalon Studio, Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, Soap UI, Rest Assured, Java, and Groovy Script for automation tasks.
  5. SOAP and JSON Web Services Automation:
    • Develop Groovy/Java Scripts in SOAP UI to automate SOAP and JSON web services testing.
  6. Test Data Management:
    • Write SQL scripts to set up and validate test data on Oracle environments, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  7. XML and JSON Validation:
    • Validate XML and JSON contents against the database and flat files to ensure data consistency.
  8. Risk Identification and Solution Proposals:
    • Proactively contribute insights, recommendations, and identify risks associated with software application strategies.
    • Propose effective solutions to address potential risks and challenges.
  9. Technical Issue Resolution:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues encountered during testing.
  10. Initiative and Ownership:
    • Demonstrate the ability to accept ownership and take the initiative in driving testing efforts to success.

  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles and automation techniques.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work within established systems and the willingness to learn new technologies and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • X years of experience in automation testing and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in using automation tools like Katalon Studio, Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, Soap UI, Rest Assured, Java, and Groovy Script.
  • Experience in testing SOAP and JSON web services and working with Oracle databases.
  • Relevant certifications in automation testing will be an advantage.
