As an Automation Test Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and execution of automated tests using JavaScript and the TestComplete automation tool. Your role will involve collaborating with software development engineers, reviewing technical designs, and ensuring the positive and negative testing of functionality, integration, and performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Experience: Utilize your 4+ years of overall experience, including 2+ years of software manual testing and 2+ years of test automation development using JavaScript.
- TestComplete Knowledge: Leverage your knowledge and experience with the TestComplete automation tool, with at least 1+ year of hands-on experience.
- Collaboration: Work directly with software development engineers to understand project features and review technical designs.
- Test Automation: Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests in TestComplete, employing positive and negative testing techniques for functionality, integration, and performance.
- Understanding: Gain a deep understanding of the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, code paths, and overall behavioral characteristics of the features and components you test.
- Test Data: Create test data and seed databases according to the test plan specifications.
- Test Coverage Analysis: Analyze and understand existing test coverage and test cases, identifying opportunities for redesign, replacement, reusability, and improvement to enhance efficiency and performance.
- Software Optimization: Apply software optimization techniques to redesign and augment existing automated tests, reducing technical debt associated with software testing.
- Code Reviews: Perform peer code reviews to enhance the quality of the test code base and optimize its execution.
- Issue Debugging: Debug and triage test failures to isolate test defects from functional defects and identify the root cause of the issue.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in prioritizing test case requirements for redesign, replacement, reusability, and improvement to enhance efficiency and performance.
- Ownership: Own, develop, and maintain automated tests, as well as set up and maintain testing environments.
- Test Reporting: Track test run reports, analyze failures, execute non-automated tests manually, and report product failures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers to accurately plan feature delivery, analyze and assist in resolving product defects.
